The tale unfolds in the distant past, on a ravaged Earth.

Humanity now resides on "floating islands"

adrift in the vast sky.

For people enduring these harsh conditions,

a deity bestowed "floating island ships" and "machine soldiers."

This granted wisdom enriched their lives.

However, to wield this wisdom,

energy known as "Solar" was required.

Mankind began to war over it.

Countless machine soldiers were lost,

and dragons emerged to take their place.

Still, the deity proposes a challenge to the persistent combatants.

"Place the Warrior of the Ring upon your vessel,

establish a hierarchy in this sky,

and to the floating island of the greatest warriors,

I shall grant abundant 'Eichi.'"

Based on battle records, one may ascend to ranks like Sora.

The "Ukishima Battle," where divine wisdom is bestowed,

was ordained to be held once every five years.

And so, the world, revolving around this event,

began to turn.
