The game kicks off with the player who draws the highest card becoming the first dealer. After shuffling, the dealer distributes 13 cards to each player. Mindi offers two distinct modes of play, ensuring variety and excitement:

• Hide Mode: Here, the player to the dealer's right selects a card and places it face down on the table, which then becomes the trump suit for that round.
• Cut Mode: This mode starts without a chosen trump suit. If a player cannot follow suit, the card they play becomes the trump for that deal.

Once a trump suit is established, the highest card of that suit played in a trick wins it. If no trump cards are played, the highest card of the suit led takes the trick. The trick winner leads the next trick, and all captured tricks are kept in a face-down pile.

A crucial aspect of Mindi is the scoring: capturing three or four of the Tens secures the hand for a partnership. Achieving all four Tens is known as Mendicot, marking a significant victory.
