"Aang Avatar Movie Delayed to October 2026, Unveils New Logo"

by Nova May 19,2025

Paramount Pictures has recently announced significant shifts in its movie release calendar, impacting the eagerly awaited Nickelodeon films The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These delays mean fans will have to wait longer than initially anticipated for both movies.

According to Variety, the release of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has been postponed from January 30, 2026, to October 9, 2026. This marks the second delay for this follow-up to Nickelodeon's beloved fantasy series, previously scheduled for October 10, 2025. No specific reason for the delay was provided, but the confirmed voice cast, including Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam, remains attached to the project. Paramount has also unveiled a new logo for the film, which you can see below.

The movie, focusing on the original Avatar protagonist in a story set years after the series concluded, received its official title at last month's CinemaCon. It is the first of a planned trilogy set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe.

Similarly, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has also been delayed. Originally set to premiere on October 9, 2026, fans will now have to wait until September 17, 2027, to see the next chapter in Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's adventures. This sequel was announced shortly before the first film's premiere in 2023, and while plot and cast details remain undisclosed, the delay adds nearly a year to fans' wait. To bridge the gap, fans can look forward to the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.
