From January 5th to 13th, Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2025 raised over $2.5 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation, exceeding the 2024 total by over $100,000. This annual winter event featured speedruns of games like Crazy Taxi, Super Metroid, and many others across various genres.

Held annually in January, AGDQ is one of two major events Games Done Quick (GDQ) hosts yearly, alongside Summer Games Done Quick in July. GDQ also organizes smaller events like Frame Fatales and GDQ Express throughout the year. In October 2024, a special Disaster Relief Done Quick event raised over $45,000 for Direct Relief, aiding victims of Hurricane Helene in the Southeastern US.

AGDQ 2025 significantly contributed to cancer research, raising over $2.5 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation—$100,000 more than AGDQ 2024. The Prevent Cancer Foundation's mission centers on early cancer detection and prevention, research funding, and public outreach. This partnership between GDQ and the PCF has raised over $26 million across multiple GDQ events. AGDQ 2025, held in Pittsburgh, began with a speedrun of Pikmin (Switch version) by Ray0ken.

A unique highlight of AGDQ 2025 was a Crazy Taxi speedrun. While the game's fast-paced nature is ideal for speedruns, its copyrighted music presents streaming challenges. Speedrunner Chuckles825 overcame this by collaborating with a live band that performed Crazy Taxi music during the run. This 18-minute run raised over $24,000.

AGDQ 2025 concluded with a randomized four-player race of Super Metroid (SNES), with two runners, Eddie and Andy, finishing within a second of each other. GDQ will return July 6th for Summer Games Done Quick 2025 in Minneapolis, benefiting Doctors Without Borders.
