Alan Wake 2 won't be sold in Steam, Tim Sweeney confirmed
A Reddit user recently received a succinct, and unfortunately negative, response from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney regarding the release of Remedy's Alan Wake 2 on Steam. The user's simple inquiry about a Steam release date was met with a blunt "it won't happen," leaving the player to consider alternative purchasing options, such as Xbox.

Alan Wake 2's situation is unique among Epic Games Store exclusives. Epic Games not only published the title but also co-financed its development with Remedy. While Remedy reported that Alan Wake 2's sales met their internal projections and expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, they also revealed that the game hasn't yet turned a profit over a year after its release. Looking ahead, Remedy will self-publish future titles, ensuring wider platform availability, including Steam.
