Alexa Plus Now Available on Select Echo Show Devices

Amazon has unveiled Alexa+, a significant upgrade to its standard Alexa voice assistant, now enhanced with generative AI. This new iteration, currently in Early Access, promises a more natural and fluid conversation experience. According to Amazon, "Alexa+ is more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done." This upgraded assistant aims to transform how users interact with their devices, making everyday tasks more seamless and intuitive.

Currently, Alexa+ is accessible only on select Echo Show devices: the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own or are considering purchasing one of these models, you can sign up for notifications to be among the first to experience Alexa+ during its Early Access phase. Once the Early Access period concludes, Alexa+ will become a free benefit for Amazon Prime members, or available for a monthly fee of $19.99 for non-Prime users.

However, it's important to note that not all devices are compatible with Alexa+. Older generation Echo devices, including the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen, will continue to use the original Alexa. Amazon plans to expand Alexa+ to additional devices soon, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com, ensuring more users can benefit from this advanced technology.
