"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced, Post-Korra Events"

In an exciting development for fans, Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced a new animated series titled "Avatar: Seven Havens" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the iconic "Avatar: The Last Airbender." The creators of the original series, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are spearheading this new venture, which promises to expand the beloved Avatarverse with a fresh narrative.

"Avatar: Seven Havens" will consist of 26 episodes, presented in 2D animation, and follows the journey of a young Earthbender identified as the next Avatar after Korra. According to the press release from Nickelodeon, the series is set in a post-cataclysmic world where the protagonist, marked as a potential destroyer rather than a savior, must navigate a treacherous landscape. Alongside her long-lost twin, they embark on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and protect the Seven Havens, the last bastions of civilization.

Expressing their enthusiasm, DiMartino and Konietzko stated, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we'd still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters." The series will be released in two parts: a 13-episode Book 1 and a 13-episode Book 2, with Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi joining as executive producers. Although the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building.

This new series marks the first mainline TV project from Avatar Studios, which is also working on a feature-length animated movie centered around an adult Aang, set for release in theaters on January 30, 2026. In addition to "Avatar: Seven Havens," Avatar Studios is celebrating the 20th anniversary with a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and a game in Roblox, ensuring fans have plenty to look forward to as they delve deeper into this expansive universe.
