How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Want To)

Starting a new game can be tricky; you might not know what kind of character you'll enjoy most right away. That's where respecing comes into play. If you find yourself not enjoying your character's current setup, consider respecing. In *Avowed*, I initially wanted to go full wizard but quickly realized it wasn't working out, so I switched to a spellsword. As you progress, you might want to respec to optimize your battle effectiveness and achieve your dream build.

How to Respec Your Abilities in Avowed

To respec in *Avowed*, head to the menu and navigate to the "Abilities" section. At the bottom of the screen, you'll find an option to "Reset Points." The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases as you play. Click the button, confirm, and pay the listed price. This will remove all your ability points from all skill trees, except for the "Godlike" abilities, which are determined by in-game choices.

How to Respec Your Attributes in Avowed

If you're happy with your abilities but not your attributes, or if you're looking to overhaul everything at once, you can respec your attribute points. Open the menu and go to the "Character" section. At the bottom, under the attribute names, you'll find a button with an associated cost. The initial cost is also 100 Copper Skeyt, and it will increase over time. Click the button, pay the cost, and reclaim your Attribute points.

How to Respec Your Companion in Avowed

Want to tweak your companion's abilities? Open the menu, head to the Abilities section, and switch to the "Companions" tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see an icon. Click the corresponding button and confirm to exchange the required amount of Copper Skeyt. This will reset all of your companion's points. Remember, you'll need to respec each companion individually.
