New Civs, Leaders, and Wonders are Coming Soon to Civ 7
Just a day after the launch of the Deluxe Edition and less than a week before the standard edition's release, Firaxis has revealed its 2025 Post-Launch Roadmap. The Crossroads of the World DLC will introduce two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new natural wonders across two releases in early and late March 2025.
The first release in early March will feature Ada Lovelace leading Great Britain and Carthage, alongside four new natural wonders. Later in the month, Simón Bolívar will join the roster, leading Nepal and Bulgaria.
While Firaxis hasn't released detailed information about the new leaders, civs, or wonders, we can make some educated guesses about what to expect. Keep in mind these are predictions, so take them with a pinch of salt. No offense is intended to any culture or people, and all predictions are based on historical accounts and real-life information.
Ada Lovelace Leader Ability, Attributes, and Agenda Prediction
Ada Lovelace, known historically as Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace, is celebrated as the first computer programmer due to her work on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine. Her leadership in Civ 7 is likely to be science-oriented, leveraging her aristocratic background and connection to Lord Byron and Annabella Milbanke.
We predict her bonuses will focus on the Codex and Specialist mechanics, areas not yet explored by other leaders. This should position her well to lead Great Britain toward a science victory.
Simón Bolívar Leader Ability, Attributes, and Agenda Prediction
Simón Bolívar, known as The Liberator of America, was the first president of Colombia and played a pivotal role in uniting Latin American territories. Having previously appeared in Civ 6, his return in Civ 7 suggests a Militarist/Expansionist playstyle, likely utilizing the new Commanders mechanic.
Unlike Trung Trac, who builds tall with her Commanders, Bolívar will probably focus on logistical prowess to keep his forces advancing.
Carthage Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Carthage, once a thriving trading hub in North Africa, is expected to focus on naval trade and coastal development in Civ 7. Given the overlap with Aksum, another Antiquity Age civ, Carthage might specialize in increasing Trade Route capacity and earning Culture bonuses from international trade. A potential synergy with the Colossus wonder could make it a formidable trading partner, even for leaders like Amina.
Great Britain Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Great Britain, a series staple, is poised to be a Modern Age civilization, possibly unlockable from the Normans or automatically with Ada Lovelace. Its bonuses are likely to reflect the Industrial Era's dominance, focusing on naval production and trade. A production boost from Oxford University could further enhance its science and industry strengths.
Nepal Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Nepal, nestled near the Himalayas and Mount Everest, is set to be a Modern Age civilization in Civ 7. Its playstyle might emphasize military and cultural advantages, with unique units benefitting from mountainous terrain. While the Taj Mahal is geographically close, its historical bonuses may not align perfectly, leaving us curious about Firaxis's final choice.
Bulgaria Unique Bonus, Unit, Infrastructure, and Wonder Prediction
Bulgaria, debuting in Civ 7, represents the Balkan region's cultural and economic crossroads. As an Exploration Age civilization, it will likely focus on Military and Economy, with a particular emphasis on Cavalry. Its strengths may lie in Traditions and Social Policies, facilitating steady progression.
Crossroads of the World DLC Natural Wonder Bonus Predictions
The Crossroads of the World DLC will introduce four new Natural Wonders, which in Civ 7 provide additional Tile Yields rather than unique bonuses. Here’s what we predict they might offer upon release.
