"Experience the complete story that inspired the TV show with definitive versions of two award-winning games," describes the official statement for The Last of Us Complete, highlighting the graphical and gameplay improvements made possible by the PlayStation 5 console.
The Last of Us Complete includes not only the main storylines but also all the bonus content released over the years. This means fans can enjoy the Left Behind DLC, which focuses on Ellie, as well as The Last of Us Part 2’s No Return and Lost Levels content. For those captivated by the HBO TV series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the digital bundle is available for $99.99.
In a PlayStation.Blog post, Naughty Dog's Head of Studio Neil Druckmann announced that a physical The Last of Us Complete Collector’s Edition will be released on July 10 for $109.99, with pre-orders available now. This edition offers additional collectibles, including a Steelbook case, game discs, The Last of Us: American Dreams comics 1 – 4, four lithographic art prints, and a heartfelt thank-you letter from Druckmann.
Druckmann expressed his gratitude in the blog post, stating, "From our entire studio, thank you so much for your incredible support for The Last of Us and Naughty Dog over the years. This is such an exciting moment for both the franchise and our teams. We are so humbled by your personal stories of what the series has meant to you, have marveled at your incredible Photo Mode shots, and inspired to keep pushing ourselves forward to create more stories and worlds you’ll love."
Originally launched on the PS3 in 2013, The Last of Us series has remained a beloved part of the PlayStation catalog, despite facing criticism for its numerous re-releases and remasters. The journey of Joel and Ellie was enhanced for the PS4 in 2014, reimagined for the PS5 in 2022, and continued with The Last of Us Part 2 in 2020, which received its own remaster in early 2024. Both games have also made their way to PC, with The Last of Us Part 1 arriving in 2023 and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered just last week.
The Last of Us Complete consolidates all of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic adventures into one comprehensive package. While some may question the need for another re-release, the timing aligns perfectly with the premiere of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 this Sunday, following the recent greenlighting of Season 3.
