Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Details, Switch 2 Still Pending

CD Projekt Red confirms Cyberpunk 2077's anticipated update 2.3 drops July 17 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S — though Nintendo Switch 2 players will need to wait a bit longer.
Major Vehicle Overhaul Arrives
During their recent livestream, developers revealed key details about what patch 2.3 brings to Night City. Associate Game Director Paweł Sasko emphasized this update heavily focuses on transportation improvements — including three brand-new cars and Cyberpunk's first customizable motorcycle. Scoring these fresh rides requires completing special introductory missions designed to be easily discoverable.
Support studio Virtuos' Lead Designer Adrien Jouannet clarified these vehicle-based quests won't count toward 100% completion stats, giving achievement hunters one less thing to stress about.
Revolutionary AutoDrive Feature
The headline addition introduces AutoDrive — Night City's equivalent of autonomous vehicle technology. Set a waypoint while cruising legitimate roads, and your car will handle the commute while obeying all traffic signals (red lights included). The system automatically disengages during combat encounters, though Sasko notes the team's tuned environments to minimize accidental road battles.
For those craving immersion, a free-roam wandering mode lets vehicles cruise endlessly while you soak in the neon-drenched vistas. Want professional chauffeur service? Delamain's AI taxis now support AutoDrive bookings.
Enhanced Cinematic & Photography Tools
Pairing AutoDrive with upgraded cinematic camera options transforms Night City into your personal film set. Inspired by fan-made travelogues, these features support Photo Mode captures mid-autopilot. Speaking of photography, update 2.3 brings:
- Dynamic weather/time controls
- 27 additional NPC poses
- New character outfits and natural stances
- Teased community photo contests
Technical Improvements & Mac Release
Tomorrow's update expands visual capabilities with AMD FSR 3.1 support at launch (FSR 4 coming later). Console players gain VRR functionality alongside proper HDR10+ implementation across all platforms.
As previously announced, July 17 also marks Cyberpunk 2077's debut on Mac — receiving version 2.3 day-one.
The Future Beyond 2.3?
While CD Projekt hasn't officially confirmed additional updates, fans speculate whether December's five-year anniversary might inspire one final content drop. Sasko carefully avoided committing either way during the presentation.
Will Night City ride into the sunset with 2.3, or is there one last chrome-plated surprise waiting under the holiday lights? Only time — and perhaps another cryptic stream — will tell.
