The New Denpa Men is coming (back) to iOS and Android, bringing bizarre RPG action to mobile

The New Denpa Men is returning to mobile devices! This quirky creature-collecting RPG, a 3DS favorite that later graced the Nintendo Switch, is set for a mobile comeback on March 10th. A global release is a strong possibility, given Nintendo's recent mobile expansion.

Gematsu reports the iOS and Android launch date. The original game pioneered augmented reality (AR) using the 3DS camera, a feature reportedly included in this new version.

For those unfamiliar, The Denpa Men is an AR-based RPG where players collect the titular Denpa Men—creatures dwelling in radio waves—from the real world and battle them in dungeons. While not a household name like Mario or Zelda, the franchise has appeared on multiple Nintendo platforms. Developer Genius Sonority previously released the original New Denpa Men on mobile before its Switch remaster.

This upcoming release is, therefore, a re-release of a mobile game that was remastered for the Switch—a slightly convoluted history. Interestingly, while the original New Denpa Men was Japan-only, the Switch version had a global release, suggesting a worldwide launch for this mobile iteration is likely.
