Donkey Kong Bananza Set for Nintendo Switch 2 Release

Nintendo has thrilled fans with the announcement of a brand new 3D platforming action game, Donkey Kong Bananza, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. Set to launch on July 17, 2025, the game is priced at $69.99. A debut gameplay trailer was showcased during the Nintendo Direct, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come.

The official description promises an exhilarating experience: "Get ready for Donkey Kong Bananza, a brand-new 3D platforming action adventure – available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Crash, bash, and climb through nearly everything in DK’s path and tear off chunks of terrain to swing around and throw in groundbreaking exploration. The more that is demolished with powerful punches, the more areas open up to discover. Break on through this adventure full of mayhem, surprises, and bananas when Donkey Kong Bananza crashes onto Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17."

The Nintendo Switch 2 itself is set to launch on June 5, 2025, with a price tag of $449.99. This new console comes equipped with:

Additionally, Nintendo is offering a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle for $499.99 in the United States, which includes the system and a download code for the Mario Kart World game, available from the launch day of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. Mario Kart World, when purchased separately, will cost $79.99, marking a $10 increase over Nintendo's previous most expensive Switch game.
