Double Fine reveals Keeper: Lighthouse game with bird powers

by Benjamin Apr 22,2026

PlayFresh from wrapping up Psychonauts 2, the inventive minds at Double Fine have returned with something delightfully bizarre – Keeper. Revealed during today's Xbox showcase, this whimsical adventure stars a walking lighthouse piloted by a comically animated bird creature.

A Lighthouse With Legs?

The trailer introduces us to a peculiar avian landing atop a coastal tower before – in true Double Fine fashion – the structure sprouts gangly limbs and starts traversing surreal landscapes. While details remain mysterious, Keeper promises that signature blend of absurdist humor and heartfelt storytelling we've come to expect from these developers.

Why We're Excited

Given Double Fine's stellar track record, expectations are sky-high for this eccentric new IP. Our Psychonauts 2 review praised its "brilliantly weird narrative packed with instantly lovable characters," noting how it "expanded the universe while preserving that magical childhood adventure spirit." If Keeper captures even half of that creative spark, we're in for something special.

Mark Your Calendars

The walking lighthouse embarks on its journey October 17, launching simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox consoles, and PC.
