Dredge: Lovecraftian Horror RPG Now on Android
Dredge, the enthralling Lovecraftian fishing horror adventure, has now made its way to mobile devices, offering players a chilling day out at sea amidst the unknowable horrors hidden within the fog. In this eerie adventure, you step into the boots of a solitary fisherman navigating the mysterious waters around a remote archipelago known as The Marrows.
A Sinister Fishing Adventure
On the surface, it's a simple life: you catch fish, sell them to the locals, upgrade your boat, and repeat the cycle. However, as you venture deeper into the waters, you'll soon realize there's something profoundly unsettling about this place. The premise is straightforward—fish to survive—but the true challenge lies beyond the typical oceanic hazards like sharp rocks and treacherous reefs. The real menace in Dredge is the ominous fog that descends at night, cloaking the unknown in its murky depths.
As you dredge up lost relics and fulfill the often dubious requests of the island’s inhabitants, you’ll begin to unravel the disturbing history of The Marrows. For a glimpse into the horror that awaits, check out the video below!
Will You Dredge?
Exploration is a key component of the game, with each island in the archipelago holding its own secrets and residents, some of whom might not be entirely sane. Keeping your gear in check is crucial, as upgrading your boat is essential to avoid getting stranded. Special equipment will unlock access to deeper waters and more elusive treasures.
Dredge boasts a distinctive low-poly yet highly atmospheric art style that lends the game a surreal quality. It offers full controller support, including button remapping, and the touch controls are surprisingly effective. You can grab the game from the Google Play Store, where it's currently available at a special launch price of $10.99, down from its original price of $24.99, in celebration of the Android release.
