Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War
Exciting news for fans of the classic strategy game, ROME: Total War! Feral Interactive has just released the massive Imperium Update for its Android version, originally launched back in 2018. This update is packed with gameplay tweaks, enhanced controls, and quality-of-life improvements that promise to elevate your gaming experience. Fans of the standalone expansions Barbarian Invasion and Alexander will also see these updates roll out next week.
What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?
The Imperium Update brings some of the most beloved features from Feral's newer mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE, directly into ROME: Total War. Here's what you can expect:
- New Control Options: The update introduces three new control modes - Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These options enhance your command over units, making battles more precise and strategic. Now, you can simply tap and hold to move your army, agents, or fleets, bypassing the need to manually drag paths.
- Positioning Mode: This mode allows for fine-tuning of unit placements with just a tap and hold, giving you greater control over your tactical setups.
- Group Grid Feature: Managing unit groups becomes more intuitive with a new collapsible selection menu, streamlining your command operations.
- Melee Mode: Ranged units can now seamlessly switch to close combat, adding a dynamic layer to your battle strategies.
- Command Slowdown: This significant change slows the game down automatically when you issue complex orders, ensuring you have the time to execute your plans perfectly.
- Keyboard and Mouse Support: For the first time, Android (and iPad) users can enjoy the precision of keyboard and mouse controls, enhancing the gameplay experience.
- Redesigned Minimap: Inspired by MEDIEVAL II, the minimap now offers smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button lets you quickly return to the default view, making map management more efficient.
The Imperium Update is now live and available for download directly from the Google Play Store for ROME: Total War on Android. Make sure to update your game to experience these enhancements. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week, and don't miss out on the improved gameplay these expansions will offer.
