Pick Up ‘A Good Scrub’

The quest begins when you speak to Betty, the bathhouse owner. You can find her bathhouse in the southeast area of Kuttenberg. Speak to the innkeeper about work opportunities, and they’ll direct you to Betty. Once you’ve agreed to assist her, she’ll send you to Grund to find Matsek.

Matsek is responsible for bringing girls to the bathhouse but is too afraid to be seen with them. Head to the courtyard where he stands and approach the three girls seated at a nearby table. Inform them that you’re there on behalf of Betty and accompany them back to the city.

Promote the Bathhouse

After returning with the girls, Betty asks you to help promote the bathhouse by shouting advertisements in key locations such as the grain market, horse market, vintners’ street, and merchants’ street. Make sure to do this during daylight hours—wait until morning if necessary.

Clean Up the Bathhouse and Finish ‘A Good Scrub’

Before the alderman arrives to inspect the bathhouse, you must clean it thoroughly. Failing to complete the tasks in time results in the bathhouse being shut down, which prevents you from obtaining the next quest, “Ill Repute.”

Once the inspection is passed, talk to Betty again. She reveals that the council is deciding which bathhouse will become the main one in the city. Your goal is to convince the councilor to leave the competing bathhouse.

Gather information by speaking with Meaty Mary, Katcha, and Little Lida. Then, acquire Chamomile Brew and add it to the wine cask on the second floor of the rival bathhouse. Additionally, Lida reveals that the councilor prefers fragrant oils—but only after you give her a noblewoman’s dress obtained from a tailor.

To sabotage the other bathhouse further, head to its third floor, pick the lock on a cabinet, and steal the oils stored inside.

Where to Find the Flea-Infested Item

Katcha mentions that the bathhouse once had a flea problem. The solution lies near the east gate of Kuttenberg City, where a group of beggars has set up camp. Search through the sacks scattered around the area to discover a flea-infested blanket—the item you need for the quest.

Return to the rival bathhouse and go to the same room where you added the Chamomile Brew. When no one is watching, interact with the baskets in the room and pour the fleas into Councillor Naaz’s laundry basket and the clean laundry pile.

If you’re unable to locate the flea-infested item, remember that completing just one of the three sabotage tasks (fleas, chamomile, or oils) is enough to drive the councilor away. This allows you to finish the quest and proceed to others like “Axe from the Lake.”
