Gigantamax Debut Announced for Future Pokemon GO Event

Pokemon GO is set to introduce the much-anticipated Gigantamax Kingler on February 1, 2025. Following the introduction of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms last year, which players eagerly awaited, the game has been progressively adding more of these unique variants. Gigantamax transformations not only amplify a Pokemon's size and strength but also alter its appearance and grant it powerful, exclusive G-Max Moves. While the main series games feature 32 Pokemon capable of Gigantamaxing, Pokemon GO currently has six, with Gigantamax Lapras being the latest addition.

Gigantamax Kingler Debuts at Pokemon GO's Upcoming Max Battle Day

During the event, players can collect up to 1,600 Max Particles, essential for participating in Pokemon GO's Max Battles. All Power Spots will feature Gigantamax Battles, refresh more often, and offer 8x more particles. From 12 am to 5 pm on February 1, players will earn double Max Particles while exploring and require only a quarter of the usual distance to earn these particles. A $5 ticket will provide 1 Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and increase the Max Particle collection limit to 5,600. Additionally, a $7.99 box containing six particle packs will be available on the Pokemon GO Web Store.

Max Battle Day is one of several events scheduled for February, but it's not the first. Niantic has also announced the Lunar New Year event, running from January 29 to February 1, 2025. While Gigantamax Kingler won't be part of this event, players can look forward to other exciting activities, including the return of Shadow Ho-Oh in a Shadow Raid Day on January 19, and the introduction of more Galar Pokemon in the coming days.
