GOG unveils 1-click mods, Skyblivion for Skyrim drops this year

by Madison Nov 16,2025

GOG Revolutionizes Modding with New One-Click Mods Feature

GOG has introduced its groundbreaking One-Click Mods initiative, revolutionizing how PC gamers access modifications. Recognizing that manual mod installation often proves time-consuming, the platform now offers curated premium mods seamlessly integrated with their respective games for effortless installation.

Preserving Gaming History Through Mods

The digital distributor emphasizes that community-created modifications play a vital role in game preservation. These player-made enhancements frequently address unresolved bugs while restoring deleted content like cutscenes, missions, and characters — plus delivering entirely new fan-created adventures.

We can't wait to get Skyblivion into your hands later this year! Thanks to our friends over @GOGcom for helping us make that easier and more accessible.

Launch Titles Showcase Mod Diversity

The initial selection features enhanced editions of beloved classics:

  • Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete Edition gains new factions, campaigns, creatures, and multiplayer improvements
  • Fallout 4: Includes the ambitious Fallout: London expansion featuring an original UK-based storyline
  • Doom 3: Phobos mod delivers a narrative-driven prequel with modernized mechanics
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines: Comprehensive unofficial patch restores cut content and fixes lingering bugs

Skyblivion Joins Later This Year

The highly anticipated Skyrim mod remaking Oblivion will join GOG's platform in 2025 through this program. Despite Bethesda's own Oblivion Remastered release, the developer has supported the volunteer project — even gifting the mod team remastered copies.

This initiative continues GOG's commitment to game preservation. Following last year's preservation program announcement, the platform addresses growing industry concerns about digital-only titles becoming inaccessible, exemplified by Ubisoft removing The Crew entirely in 2024.
