GTA 6 Trailer 2 Boosts The Pointer Sisters' Spotify Streams

by Anthony May 15,2025

The Pointer Sisters' track "Hot Together" has experienced a phenomenal surge in Spotify streams after its inclusion in the newly released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which debuted just yesterday.

In the immediate two hours post-trailer premiere, global Spotify streams for the 1986 hit skyrocketed by an astounding 182,000%. Although the latest Spotify data still shows "Hot Together" at just over 250,000 streams, it's clear that this figure is poised for further growth.

“Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else,” remarked Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial. “Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

PlaySince Rockstar Games unveiled the latest glimpse of GTA 6, the trailer has garnered an impressive 77.7 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release. The remarkable boost in streams for "Hot Together" is not surprising, given the precedent set by Tom Petty's "Love Is A Long Road," featured in the first GTA 6 trailer late in 2023. That song also saw a significant increase in Spotify streams, sparking fan theories about its relevance to the game's storyline. While no such theories have yet emerged for "Hot Together," the potential for fan speculation remains high.

As fans eagerly await the (recently delayed) release of GTA 6 on May 26, 2026, Rockstar continues to provide them with great music. In the meantime, delve into some of the best Trailer 2 fan theories we’ve seen so far and explore our compilation of 89 details Rockstar tucked into the video.
