The roguelike dungeon crawler Hades II has received its second significant patch. "The Warsong Update" propels protagonist Melinoë towards the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus. This update introduces the formidable Ares, god of war, along with his unique Boons, promising a fresh and exhilarating gameplay experience.

Beyond Ares, this update boasts a new animal familiar, challenging new foes, a visually enhanced Altar of Ashes with updated Arcana effects, over 2,000 new voice lines, and engaging new events. Players can even take a break from the relentless dungeon crawling to relax in the Crossroads, enjoy new soundtracks, or share a musical duet with Artemis.

A Glimpse into the Future: Hades II's Third Major Update

While The Warsong Update is still fresh, Supergiant Games has already begun planning the third major update, slated for release in a few months. The developers confirmed in a Steam news post that Hades II will remain in Early Access for the foreseeable future, stating that it's too early to announce a v1.0 launch date. However, they hinted at a potentially sooner-than-expected full release, noting that the core structure of both the Underworld and Surface routes is nearing completion, and development is now focused on enriching the existing content.
