Hollywood Weights Film on Marital Split

by Lucy Dec 06,2025

According to a report from Variety, a film adaptation of Split Fiction is now in the works, with a package being assembled after several major Hollywood studios expressed interest in the movie rights.

Sources told Variety that Story Kitchen, a media company focused on adapting video games and other non-traditional properties for film and television, is currently putting together the project's creative team—including writers, director, and cast—as part of a package deal. The same company is also behind the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios’ earlier title, It Takes Two. Other Story Kitchen productions (previously operating as dj2 Entertainment) include the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

This marks another success for Split Fiction; earlier in the month it was revealed that the acclaimed cooperative action-adventure title surpassed two million copies sold within its first week.

IGN’s review praised Split Fiction as an unmissable co-op adventure that remains refreshingly inventive throughout its roughly 14-hour campaign.
