HoYoverse Teases New Sim Petit Planet Game

HoYoverse has unveiled its next project, and it's a departure from its expansive RPGs. The studio behind Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero is now developing a cozy and charming life simulation game. Titled Petit Planet, HoYoverse has released a new teaser offering a first look at its world.

Alongside the brief teaser trailer, which runs under 20 seconds, HoYoverse has also revealed the official Petit Planet logo. This likely confirms the game's final title.

The teaser features a small, round pet joyfully bouncing through a mushroom-dotted meadow before the Petit Planet logo appears. It's a hefty dose of charm packed into a short video. Watch it below!

What is known about HoYoverse's Petit Planet?

This reveal follows discussions that started in June 2023, when leaks suggested HoYoverse was working on a more casual title, drawing immediate comparisons to Nintendo's Animal Crossing.

By March 2025, further reports described the project as a life simulation game featuring anthropomorphic animals and a strong emphasis on user-generated content.

Before the Petit Planet name was official, trademark filings pointed to the working title "Astaweave Haven." Multiple official social media accounts have since updated to reflect the new name.

As seen in the teaser, the art style shares similarities with Animal Crossing, showcasing rounded trees, waterfalls, and adorable creature designs.

Given HoYoverse's history, questions about potential gacha mechanics are inevitable. However, the current presentation suggests a more relaxed experience compared to the studio's usual offerings.

This announcement comes soon after the reveal of Honkai: Nexus Anima, a creature-collecting auto-battler. It's clear HoYoverse is exploring genres beyond its signature gacha RPGs.
