Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of characters, each with unique playstyles. This guide details how to unlock new Breakers and provides an overview of their abilities. Note that this guide reflects the early access version; more characters may be added later.

How to Unlock New Characters

To unlock new characters, you'll need Abyss Stones. These are dropped by Crowns (bosses). First, locate Prisms (indicated by golden diamond icons on the map) to access boss arenas. After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter. Select the Breaker you wish to unlock and spend your Abyss Stones to add them to your roster. Currently, only two characters are unlockable via this method; the process for future characters may differ.

All Characters and Their SyComs

Each character starts with a SyCom, defining their base stats and core perk, significantly impacting their playstyle.

Vermillion

• Default SyCom: Gunslinger: Focuses on ranged combat. Critical hits from Rail shots guarantee a critical hit on the following shot.
• Unlockable SyCom: Tank: Emphasizes melee combat and defense. Perfect parries increase armor. Offers superior defensive stats and melee capabilities.

Lapis

• Default SyCom: Lightweaver: Rail-oriented. Increases Rail shot damage after collecting a Battery.
• Unlockable SyCom: Warrior: Boosts core stats with each upgrade, making her increasingly powerful as the game progresses.

Goro

• Default SyCom: Astrologer: Ranged-focused. Accelerates Blade skill charge while shooting.
• Unlockable SyCom: Sniper: Significantly increases critical hit rate, enhancing his damage output. A high-risk, high-reward playstyle.
