How to Romance a Character in Fields of Mistria

While you can form friendships with nearly everyone in *Fields of Mistria*, romance is a special path reserved for a select group of NPCs. With the v0.13.0 update, you can now pursue a romantic relationship with one of 11 different characters, including Caldarus himself.

Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that fills based on your interactions with them. To build a romance with Juniper or any other character, you'll need to engage with them frequently and cater to their specific likes and dislikes.

Start by **talking to them daily**. A little conversation can go a long way, and it's easy to do while you're busy around town. Additionally, make sure to complete any requests they post on the town board; this will give you more opportunities to increase their heart gauge.

You can also **give them gifts once per day**. Choose items that they particularly enjoy or love. These items vary from one character to another and can be gathered or crafted. On their birthday, give them an item they love to boost their heart gauge significantly.

Keep in mind that currently, NPC heart gauges can only reach up to **six hearts**. After reaching this level, a cutscene will play, hinting at budding feelings but not a full romance yet.

According to the game’s roadmap, future updates will introduce 8 and 10-heart events, and eventually, options for marriage and children. So, your budding romance in Mistria has plenty of room to grow.

Juniper, one of the romanceable characters in *Fields of Mistria*, can often be found at the bathhouse she operates in the northeastern part of town or out searching for witchcraft ingredients. To win her heart, focus on visiting her, fulfilling her town board requests, and bringing her thoughtful daily gifts.

Juniper has a range of items she "likes" and "loves." Her birthday falls on the **26th day of Fall**, so giving her a "loved" item on that day will significantly boost her heart gauge.

Avoid giving Juniper items she dislikes, which include all universal dislikes for every NPC and **Sod**. You can check the status of her heart gauge at any time in your journal under the heart icon tab.
