Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement came during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This news comes after persistent rumors that the series might bring back other characters from the Netflix Defenders universe, much to the excitement of fans eager to see these heroes make their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut.

Ritter shared the stage with Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, expressing her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The character appeared in two more seasons and the team-up series The Defenders. However, as Netflix's collaboration with Marvel began to fade, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter as Jessica Jones again.

The landscape shifted in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain Marvel characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in the Daredevil: Born Again series on Disney+, speculation grew about the potential return of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a key role in Season 1, it's fitting to see Ritter return for Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more adventures for Jessica in the MCU, but for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Although Disney has not yet set a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes are slated for March 2026.
