LEGO Reveals Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Ahead of May the Fourth
LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, set to launch on May 1, 2025, as part of Disney's extensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day. LEGO traditionally honors this day by introducing a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In previous years, fans saw the release of Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year, LEGO enthusiasts can look forward to Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known as Slave I among long-time Star Wars fans. This name change, implemented in 2021 at Disney's request and confirmed by LEGO, reflects a sensitivity to the term 'slave' in branding, and it appears the new name will continue to be used.

The last significant iteration of this LEGO starship was released in 2019, commemorating the 20th anniversary with 1007 pieces, based on its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The latest rendition, inspired by the ship's portrayal in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, boasts an impressive 2970 pieces. This new model is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
