LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO has unveiled its most expansive Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, beloved characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available for purchase on the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is tailored for adults aged 18 and above, emphasizing its display purpose over play. It incorporates advanced building techniques that may challenge younger builders. The sheer size of the set can be hard to grasp from images alone, but the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide a helpful scale reference. The skeleton's skull mirrors the design of the existing LEGO T-rex skull set, which has been praised for its detail and build quality. The addition of the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail are adjustable. Like many LEGO sets inspired by films, this one includes hidden Easter eggs to uncover during the building process. Additionally, it comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World series may not be as extensive as LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter, it is rapidly expanding. Enthusiasts like myself are eager to see more adult-oriented sets like this T-rex skeleton included in future releases.
