Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse

NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The company cites unfair competitive advantages stemming from increased control precision and aim assist retention as the reason for the ban.
Adapters such as XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse controls, are specifically targeted. NetEase states that these devices create an imbalance, particularly in competitive game modes. Sophisticated detection tools are now in place to identify and penalize adapter usage with account blocks.
Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While the effect might be minimal with already low ping, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary workaround, despite this seeming counterintuitive to players accustomed to higher FPS in other titles.
