"Minecraft Movie Lego Sets Reveal Mobs for Jack Black Film"

by Nicholas May 08,2025

Lego has unveiled an exciting new range of sets inspired by the upcoming Jack Black-led live-action film, *A Minecraft Movie*. These sets provide a sneak peek into which mobs and characters fans can anticipate seeing in the movie. According to Games Radar, the announced sets are the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack, complementing the existing lineup of regular Minecraft Lego sets.

The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring set, priced at $49.99 and consisting of 491 pieces, hints at a thrilling gladiator-style battle scene in the film. This set features Jason Momoa's character, The Garbage Man, battling a zombie mounted on a giant chicken. While it's unclear whether the depiction is to scale or represents a baby zombie on a regular-sized chicken, the combined height of the zombie and chicken is approximately twice that of The Garbage Man. Alongside the fighting ring, the set includes figures of Steve, his friend Henry, and a giant zombie pigman, as well as a chest filled with gold and a small viewing stand equipped with weapons.

The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set, retailing for $69.99 with 555 pieces, suggests that the film will feature a significant battle scene involving the Nether's iconic Ghast. This set portrays a confrontation in a regular overworld village and includes figures of Steve, Natalie, Dawn, an iron golem, a village minifigure, and two piglins.

Both sets will be available starting March 1, a month before *A Minecraft Movie* premieres in theaters on April 4. The film, which was officially revealed in September, initially faced criticism from fans concerned about the visual disparity between the live-action characters and the animated, green screen-generated world. In response, one fan even recreated the trailer in a fully animated style. Addressing these concerns, the film's director and producer assured IGN in November that they were prepared for all feedback and ready to deliver a captivating cinematic experience.
