Monster Hunter Now Tests New Outbreaks Feature

A lot is happening in Monster Hunter Now, especially with a new feature Niantic is testing called Monster Outbreaks. They aim to gather player feedback to tweak and refine it before rolling it out as a permanent addition.

When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?

The testing phase is set for April 26th and 27th, running for a few hours each day. The event will occur twice daily on both Saturday and Sunday—from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time.

At specific outbreak locations on the map, you'll encounter swarms of 8-star Black Diablos. Players are encouraged to team up with others to bring down 100 of them at a single outbreak point within the one-hour window!

To participate, you must have a Hunter Rank (HR) of 11 or higher. However, the party system is disabled; only in-person group hunts will count.

Outbreak points are marked on the map with a special icon. Tapping on one reveals more details. Additionally, a sign-up roster has been added at each location so players can coordinate their efforts.

Black Diablos Is Swarming with Serious Boss Energy!

Here’s how the kill count works: If you go in with three other hunters and take down one Black Diablo, that counts as four kills toward the 100-goal.

Once your group reaches the 100-monster mark, you can continue hunting for the remainder of the hour. During this time, only Black Diablos will spawn.

Rewards are up for grabs if your team achieves the goal. Completing the task grants 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Using the sign-up roster earns you a special Outbreak Test I Medal.

Are you ready to dive into the chaos? Download Monster Hunter Now from the Google Play Store and join the Monster Outbreaks testing over the weekend.
