Morikomori Life: New Social, Rural Sim with Ghibli-Style Art
Morikomori Life, a charming rural farm life simulation game, is now available on Android and iOS platforms exclusively in Japan. This time, Realfun Studio has taken on the publishing role, bringing the game to Japanese audiences. Previously, the game was launched in China by Level Infinite, a division of Tencent Games, but was subsequently removed from the market about a year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its stunning visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the essence of a cozy countryside through anime-inspired, Ghibli-style art. These visuals are not just reminiscent of Studio Ghibli animations; they look as if they have been directly extracted from one of their beloved films.
In the game, you step into the shoes of Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother, urging her to return to the village of Komori where she spent her childhood. As you guide Kaon through her journey, you rediscover the joys of a peaceful rural life. The 3D toon shading used in the game beautifully enhances the warm and inviting Japanese landscapes, making them feel like a real-life countryside.
If you're skeptical about the game's visual appeal, take a moment to watch the Morikomori Life trailers below and see the magic for yourself!
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
At its core, Morikomori Life is all about embracing a slow-paced, slice-of-life experience. Engage in a variety of activities such as farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even constructing your own home. Gather resources by chopping wood, mining for ore, and exploring the landscape to find rare materials.
As you accumulate these resources, you unlock opportunities to upgrade your house and enhance your lifestyle. Personalize Kaon’s appearance to reflect your style, and connect with new friends in the village. Use foraged ingredients to create delicious meals and assist villagers with various tasks.
The game also offers a customizable character feature that allows you to tailor Kaon to match your personality. Additionally, the open-world aspect of Morikomori Life encourages you to explore freely, discovering delightful surprises along the way.
Currently, Morikomori Life is available on the Google Play Store in Japan. There has been no announcement yet regarding a global release. Keep an eye out for future updates if you're interested in experiencing this serene countryside adventure.
