Neon Spellstorm: Wizard Roguelite Bullet Heaven Pre-Registration Now Open

Neon Spellstorm is an upcoming action game from TopCog with pre-registration now live. A roguelite bullet heaven, it revolves around the same theme as TopCog’s other major games. Wizards. The studio’s previous lineup includes the Tap Wizard series and WizUp.

Sprint across a neon path

In the game, you sprint across a neon path that crumbles behind you while you’re blasting spells in every direction. You play as a wizard in a low-tech cyberpunk world filled with pixel art and glitchy vibes.

The game features 28 spells that you can experiment with. You’ll be juggling effects like echo, havoc, behemoth, and aftershock. Chain multiple spells together to create stronger, more powerful combinations. You also have access to 74 trinkets that let you craft some wildly unpredictable builds.

You never know what spells or trinkets you’ll get in each run. And that unpredictability keeps every playthrough fresh and thrilling. As you progress, you’ll collect Orbs, Stars, Gems, and Neon. Use these resources at the Neon Core to unlock new upgrades and spells.

Neon Spellstorm uses a 2.5D mixed media style, blending 2D sprites with low-poly 3D models. The result is a distinct hybrid aesthetic that stands out. See a glimpse of it right here.

The game lets you customize your wizard before each run. Choose from six unique characters. You can also select spells, fates, archetypes, and sigils to match your preferred playstyle. Once in the action, you decide how to approach each section of the map.

Pre-Registration for Neon Spellstorm Is Now Open on Android

You can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store. Once released, it will offer a free demo and a single in-app purchase to unlock the full version. The tentative mobile launch date is August 11th, 2025.

Developers have shared that the game’s visual style and gameplay draw inspiration from several popular titles. Elements of Hades, Bastion, Risk of Rain 2, Slay the Spire, and TopCog’s own Tap Wizard 2 can all be felt in the experience. I hope the game lives up to the strong impression it’s making so far.
