"Netflix Unveils Sifu Movie: Stahelski and Nowlin Onboard"

Netflix has officially teamed up with the creators of the acclaimed game Sifu to transform its intense narrative into a cinematic experience. Announced back in 2022, the film adaptation was initially being crafted by Story Kitchen in collaboration with Sloclap, the game's developer. However, as reported by Deadline, the project has seen a notable expansion in its production team.

Netflix has enlisted the talents of T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who had been working on the adaptation of Sifu's story, might still be part of the project, his exact role remains uncertain at this time.

The production team has been further bolstered by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the acclaimed director behind the John Wick franchise, and his company 87Eleven Entertainment, who will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also currently involved in another high-profile video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.

Since its release in 2022, Sifu has captured the gaming world's attention, selling over one million copies in just three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them after each death—but ages them significantly—the protagonist navigates a perilous journey filled with danger and intrigue.
