NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one stands out for fans of Square Enix titles: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats, obtainable during your first playthrough.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to progress to a later point in the game as 2B. Alternatively, Chapter Select (accessible after completing the game once) allows immediate access in Chapter 9, significantly reducing playtime needed to acquire it. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, veer right, following the path into a 2D perspective section. Navigate past a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and board a conveyor belt with crates. The next belt features descending presses; avoid them to reach the next cylinder area, where spider-like enemies await.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends towards the camera. This triggers another 2D platforming segment. Jump across the presses, moving left, to reach a final room.

Inside, three chests are present. The Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest; a locked chest sits on the right. Beware of additional exploding enemies descending from the ceiling as you approach.

Engine Blade Stats In NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon allows four upgrades, culminating in a light combo of seven attacks (requires obtaining the Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, its damage range is tighter, offering more predictable damage output.
