Elden Ring Nightreign Director Conquers All Bosses Solo Without Relics, Encourages Exploration

Tackling Elden Ring Nightreign solo has sparked heated discussions since its release, but director Junya Ishizaki has proven it’s entirely achievable. He’s personally defeated every boss in Nightreign on his own.

In a recent CNET interview, Ishizaki was asked if he had triumphed over every boss, including the final one, solo.

"Absolutely. I can confidently say I’ve defeated every boss in the game," Ishizaki stated. "I’ve experienced all aspects of Nightreign, both in multiplayer and solo play. I want players to feel assured that soloing is possible and to approach it with confidence."

CNET sought clarification, confirming Ishizaki had indeed soloed every boss. "Yes," he affirmed. "And without using relics."

While this feat is remarkable in itself, Ishizaki’s accomplishment also serves as motivation for other players. If he can do it, so might you. The "no relics" approach, however, might not be necessary for everyone—you can ease up on that restriction.

Other players have also successfully tackled individual bosses and the entire Nightlord roster solo. Still, the solo experience in Nightreign has faced scrutiny, not only for its challenge but also for mechanics like revival, which seem tailored more for cooperative play than solo efforts.

FromSoftware is clearly listening and responding to these concerns. The recent 1.01.1 patch, released shortly after Nightreign’s debut, focused on solo mode, boosting rune gains for lone players and granting one free automatic revival for night bosses.
