Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing Revealed

Following today's Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo has officially announced the price of the Nintendo Switch 2: $449.99.

Releasing on June 5, 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 was fully unveiled today, with pre-orders set to begin on April 9.

"The Nintendo Switch 2 represents the next evolution in home entertainment you can take anywhere, building on eight years of innovation and discovery that started with the original Nintendo Switch," said Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.

"With new features that broaden the scope of interactive entertainment, I am confident the Nintendo Switch 2 is a significant step forward in our mission to bring smiles to people worldwide through Nintendo's unique experiences."

Nintendo Switch 2 Package Contents:

The console includes the following components: Nintendo Switch 2 console, Joy-Con 2 controllers (Left and Right), Joy-Con 2 Grip, Joy-Con 2 wrist straps, Nintendo Switch 2 Dock, an Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable, the Nintendo Switch 2 AC adapter, and a USB-C charging cable.

The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle is priced at $499.99 in the US. This bundle includes the console and a download code for Mario Kart World, available from the system's launch on June 5. Since Mario Kart World retails separately for $79.99, purchasing the bundle effectively saves you $30 on the game.

While anticipation for a new console's price is always high, the Nintendo Switch 2 has been a particular topic of debate given the unique economic climate of its release. As industry analysts noted back in January, factors like ongoing supply chain challenges and potential tariff fluctuations may have influenced Nintendo's pricing strategy. However, experts also predict strong launch sales for the console, regardless of its final cost.
