Capcom has unveiled exciting new gameplay footage of their highly anticipated 2026 action game, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword*. The spotlight of this reveal is none other than the legendary Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, who takes the lead role in this latest installment of the Onimusha series.

During the PlayStation State of Play event, Capcom premiered a new trailer showcasing the sword-centric action gameplay and formidable enemies that players can expect in *Onimusha: Way of the Sword*. Although the game's release is slated for 2026, the visuals and action sequences already promise an immersive gaming experience.

*Onimusha: Way of the Sword* not only brings Musashi's unparalleled sword skills to life but also highlights his roguish and comedic personality. Capcom describes the game as a dark fantasy action title featuring one of Japan's most celebrated historical figures. Interestingly, Musashi's in-game appearance is modeled after the late Toshiro Mifune, the iconic Japanese actor famous for portraying Musashi in samurai films.

Set in a Kyoto overrun by an evil force called Malic, which is summoning hellish beings into Japan, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades. In preparation for this much-anticipated release, Capcom has also announced a remaster of *Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny*, set to launch on May 23, 2025, to reignite fans' excitement for the franchise.
