Pedro Pascal Condemns JK Rowling Over Anti-Trans Remarks

by Skylar Dec 06,2025

Pedro Pascal, the acclaimed actor from hit series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling over her continued online remarks targeting the transgender community.

Pascal voiced his opinion in the comments of a video shared on April 17 by writer and activist Tariq Raouf. In the video, Raouf condemns Rowling’s endorsement of a recent UK Supreme Court decision that legally defines “woman” as “a biological female” under the country’s equality laws. Under this ruling, transgender women are denied key protections under the Equality Act.

Following the verdict, Rowling posted a celebratory image on Twitter/X showing herself smoking a cigar and relaxing with a drink by the sea. She captioned it, “I love it when a plan comes together,” referencing her past financial support for For Scotland Women, the group that brought the case to court.

In his video, Raouf described Rowling’s behavior as “serious Voldemort villain sh**” and called on audiences to boycott Harry Potter and related content. Pascal replied directly, writing: “Awful disgusting SH** is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

This isn’t the first time Pascal has defended the transgender community. In a previous post, he stated, “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.” He shared this alongside an image of a sign reading, “A world without trans people has never existed and never will.” He also wore a “Protect the dolls” t-shirt at the Thunderbolts premiere in London—a phrase commonly used in LGBTQIA+ spaces to refer to trans women.

Pascal’s sister, Lux Pascal, is a transgender woman who came out publicly in 2021. Pascal has been a steadfast supporter, responding to her announcement with the heartfelt message: “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” which translates to “My sister, my heart, our Lux.”
