Pokémon Go Launches Wayfarer Challenge in Chile and India for New PokéStops and Gyms

Niantic has recently unveiled the Wayfarer Challenge for Pokémon Go players in Chile and India, offering a unique opportunity to influence their local game environment while reaping exclusive rewards. From March 7th to 9th in Chile and March 10th to 12th in India, trainers can participate in this exciting event by reviewing and approving Wayspot nominations through the Niantic Wayfarer platform. This participation helps to introduce new PokéStops and Gyms into the game, enhancing the local gaming experience.

During the Wayfarer Challenge, you can nominate real-world locations such as landmarks, sculptures, and street art to be transformed into PokéStops and Gyms. By reviewing these nominations, you contribute to reaching community milestones. If the community successfully resolves 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the community achieve 10,000 approvals, the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.

To join the challenge, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations. Additionally, to be eligible for rewards, you must have recently played in Chile or India, or have your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location set to one of these countries. You'll need to review at least 50 nominations, and at least one community milestone must be achieved.

Concurrently, the PokéStop Challenge event will run from March 9th to 12th, exclusively in Chile and India. This event offers 3x XP for first-time visits to new PokéStops, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and an increased chance of encountering Kecleon. Event Field Research will provide opportunities to encounter Eevee, while Timed Research tasks could lead to encounters with other Pokémon.
