First pre-alpha gameplay footage of Fable

A surprise early look at gameplay from the next Fable installment dropped during the Official Xbox Podcast. The footage offers glimpses into various game world locations, the combat system, a range of enemies, and even a brief cutscene. And yes, the legendary chicken kick makes a return!

Previously, the head of Xbox Game Studios confirmed a delay for Fable, pushing its release from 2025 to 2026. The reason given was the need for additional polish and refinement.

Announced on July 23, 2020, the reboot of this iconic series has remained largely shrouded in secrecy. Three years post-announcement, it's become apparent that Fable is still in its early development stages.

The involvement of Eidos Montreal alongside main developer Playground Games, coupled with the long absence of polished gameplay footage, suggests the game faces significant challenges.
