Rambo fans, get ready for a thrilling journey back in time! A new prequel project titled "John Rambo" is in the works, helmed by the visionary director Jalmari Helander, known for his intense action films "Sisu" and "Big Game." According to Deadline, Millennium Media, the powerhouse behind the Expendables and Has Fallen series, and also involved in 2008's "Rambo" and 2019's "Rambo: Last Blood," is set to launch this exciting new chapter at the Cannes market. This annual event, running alongside the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, is the perfect platform for unveiling upcoming films seeking funding or distribution partners.

"John Rambo" promises to take us back to the Vietnam War, serving as a prequel to the iconic 1982 film "First Blood." While plot details remain under wraps, the anticipation is high. As of now, no casting has been confirmed, though original Rambo star Sylvester Stallone is aware of the project but not currently involved.

The script for "John Rambo" has been crafted by the talented duo Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, known for their work on "The Mauritanian" and "Black Adam." Production is slated to kick off in Thailand come October, setting the stage for what promises to be an explosive addition to the Rambo legacy.

Jalmari Helander's recent success with the WWII action film "Sisu" showcases his ability to handle high-octane, action-packed storytelling, making him the perfect choice to bring the young John Rambo to life. "Sisu" transformed the John Wick formula into a thrilling tale of an elderly Finnish commando battling Nazis, proving Helander's knack for intense action narratives.
