Rockstar Claims GTA 6 Trailer 2 Sets Record as Largest Video Launch Ever

by Leo Dec 07,2025

Rockstar declares GTA 6 Trailer 2 the most massive video launch in history.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Rockstar revealed that Trailer 2 amassed 475 million views across platforms on its debut day, surpassing all other movie trailer launches, including Deadpool & Wolverine's 365 million views and The Fantastic Four: First Steps' 200 million in their first 24 hours. Last year's Superman trailer garnered over 250 million views, marking it as DC and Warner Bros.' most-watched trailer ever, yet GTA 6 Trailer 2 outshines them all.

Notably, GTA 6 Trailer 1, which achieved 93 million views on its first day, launched exclusively on YouTube, becoming the platform's biggest non-music video debut. Trailer 2 has now reached 85,276,196 views on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel as of this article’s publication on May 8.

IGN reported that The Pointer Sisters’ Hot Together experienced a dramatic surge in Spotify streams after its feature in GTA 6 Trailer 2, with global streams soaring by 182,000% in just two hours post-premiere.

“Grand Theft Auto slices through pop culture like few others,” said Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, in a statement. “Music has defined the series from its inception, and it’s thrilling to see both new and longtime fans embrace this iconic track.”

GTA 6 Trailer 2 dropped after the game’s notable delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. It’s poised to be the biggest entertainment launch ever, expected to break revenue records across video games and films.
