Stalker 2 Side Quest: Uncover Scientific Secrets

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players can embark on a side quest titled "For Science!" This quest unfolds through interactions with various NPCs in The Zone. The quest begins with a rendezvous between Skif and Yaryk Mongoose at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant.

Initiating "For Science!":

To start the quest, locate Yaryk Mongoose within the Central Elevator area. Upon approaching, Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, prompting a meeting. Navigate to the first floor, bypassing conveyor belts and climbing rusted stairs. A quick vault over a railing leads to Mongoose, initiating the conversation that starts the quest. Mongoose will explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a silo. Agreeing to his request officially begins "For Science!".

Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and ascend to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Access the exterior via a broken window and descend using an external ladder. Jump to the silo walkway, equipping a bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed along the silo's top to activate the second measuring device.

Dealing with the Aftermath:

Activating the device triggers a Bloodsucker attack. Players can choose to engage and eliminate the Bloodsuckers or evade them to reach Mongoose.

The Confrontation with Mongoose:

Upon confronting Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unintended consequences. Players face a choice: kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward peacefully. Neither choice significantly impacts the game's progression. Choosing the peaceful option rewards the player with the Malachite Pass and coupons, granting access to the STC Malachite facility (unless already accessible via main missions). Killing Mongoose allows looting the pass from his corpse.
