Tom Hardy's MobLand gets Season 2 renewal

by Sadie May 30,2026

Can't stop binge-watching Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan's gripping crime drama? Craving more of Helen Mirren's powerhouse performances? Good news—Paramount+ has greenlit MobLand for Season 2.

The streaming platform confirmed the series has drawn 26 million viewers since its March 30 debut, making renewal an obvious choice given its A-list cast. Paramount+ ranks MobLand as its second most-watched original series ever.

Alongside Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren, the show features House of the Dragon's Paddy Considine and Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt. It follows Hardy's character Harry Da Souza, a fixer working for Brosnan's crime boss Conrad Harrigan. The official synopsis describes "two generations of gangsters, their empires, complex relationships, and the problem-solver they all rely on."

"With 26 million viewers and counting, MobLand's success stems from the creative vision of producers Guy Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, and David C. Glasser, combined with stellar performances by Tom, Pierce, and Helen," said Chris McCarthy, Paramount co-CEO and Showtime/MTV Entertainment president. "We're thrilled to continue this global hit that topped UK charts and dominated internationally."

Season 1 currently holds a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and remains available for streaming, though Season 2's premiere date remains unannounced.

During May's press tour, Hardy reflected on how physically demanding roles in Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises impacted his health approaching 50.

"I've undergone two knee surgeries, herniated a spinal disc, and developed sciatica," the 47-year-old actor shared.

"Now I've got plantar fasciitis—where did that come from? Plus a torn hip tendon. My body's falling apart, and recovery isn't getting easier."
