Ubisoft Announces Expansion of "Driver" Franchise
Despite the cancellation of the planned live-action Driver TV series, Ubisoft assures fans that other Driver projects are actively under development. Let's delve into the details of Ubisoft's recent announcement.
Ubisoft Remains Committed to the Driver Franchise
Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the live-action Driver series, previously slated for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, is no longer in production. The project, announced in 2021 as part of Ubisoft's initiative to expand its game franchises into new media, was intended to bring the world of Driver to life. However, the partnership dissolved following the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a Ubisoft subsidiary involved in film projects, in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson stated, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."
However, Ubisoft has confirmed that they are actively developing other exciting projects within the Driver franchise. While specifics remain undisclosed, the company promises future announcements, urging fans to stay tuned for further updates on the Driver universe.
