This guide details how to locate and utilize the three merchants in Valheim: Haldor (Black Forest), Hildir (Meadows), and the Bog Witch (Swamp). Their locations are procedurally generated, making them challenging to find without assistance.

Valheim's merchants offer valuable items to aid your survival. While exploring biomes is crucial, these traders provide significant advantages. Locating them, however, can be difficult due to the game's procedural generation. This guide outlines each merchant's location and inventory.

How to Find Haldor (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor's Location

Haldor, often the easiest to find, spawns within a 1500m radius of the world's center. He resides in the Black Forest. While he's sometimes near The Elder's spawn point (often identifiable via glowing ruins in Burial Chambers), using the Valheim World Generator (created by wd40bomber7) is a more efficient method to pinpoint his location. Once found, his location remains constant. Building a portal near him is recommended. Gold is the primary currency; gems and jewelry found in dungeons are readily sellable.

How to Find Hildir (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir's Location

Hildir, located in the Meadows, is harder to find due to her distant spawn (3000-5100m from the world center, with spawn points ~1000m apart). The Valheim World Generator is highly recommended. A T-shirt icon appears on the map when you are 300-400m away. She offers clothing with stamina reduction buffs and quests leading to chests containing additional items.

The Bog Witch, found in the Swamp biome, is the most challenging merchant to locate (3000-8000m from the world center, with spawn points ~1000m apart). Her cauldron icon appears on the map as you approach. She offers items for crafting new foods and meads.
