Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Open Beta Launches, Major Update 7.0

The public test server for *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* is now live, offering an early glimpse at Update 7.0. Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have released preliminary patch notes, emphasizing that the final 7.0 notes may differ due to ongoing bug fixes. Update 7.0 introduces a new PvE mission, "Exfiltration," and a new secondary weapon: the Inferno Pistol, available to Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. Endgame PvE prestige ranks and private PvP lobbies are also added. Customization options expand with new colors (Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue), Bulwark cloth and hand recoloring, and a 50% increase in PvP customization rewards. New skins include an Imperial Fists Champion skin for the Tactical class and a Space Wolves Champion skin for the Vanguard class.

Balance changes are significant, most notably the expanded weapon arsenal in PvE. All classes now have a wider weapon selection; the Assault class can finally wield the Power Sword without modifications. Detailed weapon adjustments are in the patch notes below.

A welcome fix addresses a persistent griefing issue in the Inferno Operation. Players reaching the final assembly area will now automatically teleport any lagging teammates after a 1:30 minute grace period (with a 15-second warning).
