Devotees of The Witcher series will need to exercise patience, as CD Projekt Red confirmed the next installment won't arrive within the next two years.

During the company's FY2024 earnings briefing, executives disclosed financial targets tied to share-based incentives through 2026, followed by the telling statement: "While The Witcher 4 won't launch by December 2026, these financial objectives continue to drive our development efforts."

When pressed for clarification during the Q&A session, CD Projekt Red maintained confidentiality regarding specific timelines. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz responded: "We're not prepared to announce exact launch dates. However, we can confirm the game won't release before our current incentive program concludes on December 31, 2026."

Development Enters Critical Phase

While the wait continues, CD Projekt Red reassured fans that production is progressing steadily. Last year's Q3 financial report confirmed the project has entered its most intensive development stage. "This is currently our most advanced project," Nielubowicz noted. "We're transitioning into full-scale production and commend our team's dedication."

Originally unveiled as Project Polaris in 2022, the game received its official title during The Game Awards 2024. The Witcher IV introduces an older Ciri as protagonist, marking a departure from Geralt of Rivia's story.
