Xbox Game Pass Welcomes New Title on January 21

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will debut on Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, January 21. Microsoft unveiled the initial batch of January 2025 Game Pass titles earlier this month, but subscribers noted the lineup felt sparse.

In the first half of January 2025, Xbox Game Pass saw minimal changes, with a few Ultimate-only titles shifting to the Standard tier. Notable additions included the original Diablo on PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 for Ultimate subscribers. Microsoft has yet to announce the full Wave 2 lineup for January 2025, but one confirmed title is set to arrive this month.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will launch on Game Pass as a day one release on January 21, exclusive to Ultimate subscribers at first, following recent tier changes. This skiing title introduces co-op and PvP modes, available starting January 21.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders isn’t the only day one title arriving in late January 2025. While the first half of the month was quiet, the second half brings a robust lineup, including three additional day one releases: Eternal Strands on January 28, Sniper Elite: Resistance on January 30, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector on January 31.

Among the new January 2025 Game Pass titles, Eternal Strands stands out. Developed by Yellow Brick Games, led by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw, this action-adventure game channels strong Zelda-like vibes. Ultimate subscribers can access it and other new January titles at no extra cost beyond their subscription.

Looking ahead, February 2025’s Game Pass lineup appears light so far. Avowed is confirmed for February 18 for Ultimate subscribers, but details on other titles remain scarce. Ultimate subscribers can enjoy Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, and other January day one releases while awaiting updates on February’s offerings.
